ワールドカップ2014 グループHの戦いを振り返る WC2014 - Looking back Group H

混戦のグループHは、ベルギーとロシアの決勝トーナメント進出を予想したが、ロシアではなく、アルジェリアが2枚目の切符を手にした。

ベルギーは、決して派手なチームではないが、ビルモッツ監督のもと、若い力が力を発揮しており、順調に3連勝で、2戦目で決勝トーナメント行きを決めた。

アルジェリアは、初戦でベルギーに敗れたが、韓国への4−2の勝利で勢いに乗った。

最後のロシアとの試合でも、先制されながら、エースのスリマニがゴールを決めて、ベスト16行きを決めた。

基本的な守備的なチームだが、攻撃に入った際は、勢いがあるチーム。スリマニ、というエースがいることも大きい。

ロシアは、ヨーロッパ予選では、順調に勝利を重ねながら、このブラジルでは、タレントを抱えながら、実力を発揮できず、グループステージで敗退した。

次の大会の開催国として、せめてベスト16には進みたかった。

ベルギーへの敗戦は仕方ないとしても、初戦の韓国との引き分けが、痛かった。

韓国は、アジア予選で、途中、監督を交代させて、何とかこのブラジルまでたどり着いたが、やはり、ベスト16には届かなかった。

ロシアとの引き分けスタートは良かったが、アルジェリアへの4失点での負けが大きかった。
