ワールドカップ2014 グループAの戦いを振り返る WC2014 - Looking back Group A

グループAは、私の予想通り、開催国のブラジルと、メキシコが決勝トーナメントへ進んだ。

ブラジルは、開幕戦のクロアチア戦で、いきなりマルチェロのオウンゴールでのスタートとなったが、西村主審のサポートなどもあり、辛くも白星スタート。

最終戦のカメルーン戦では、無難な勝利を収めたが、メキシコ戦では、堅い守りのメキシコに苦しめられ、カウンター攻撃も受け、課題を残した。

また、得点がネイマール頼みなのも気になる。7ゴールのうち、4ゴールがネイマール。ネイマールが警告累積や、不調の場合は、どうなってしまうのか。

メキシコは、ブラジル以外は混戦と言われたこのグループを、堅い守備と、決定力のある攻撃で乗り切った。

ブラジル戦でのPKオチョアの活躍が印象的だった。

後半途中から、ハビエル・エルナンデスが登場し、一気に勝負を決める戦術が、ここまでは見事に機能している。

クロアチアは、マンジュキッチを中心とした攻撃力は魅力的だったが、ディフェンスに課題があり、ブラジル、メキシコ戦で、その守備力の問題が露呈した。

カメルーンは、3敗、最下位でブラジルを後にすることになった。

最後のブラジル戦では、敗れはしたものの、試合の内容はまずまずで、最初から、こうした試合運びが出来れば、チャンスはあったのかもしれない。
