前回王者スペインと、決勝戦で敗れたオランダの戦い。

開幕2日目にして、前回南アフリカ大会の決勝戦の再現となった、豪華な組み合わせ。

結果は、スペインが、最近では記憶にないほどの歴史的な大敗。オランダの攻撃力が爆発して、前回大会で、延長戦の末、0−1で破れた雪辱を、完璧に果たした。
